Educational Excursion

Educational excursion to the Land of Enlightenment

The Bodhisukha School organised an educational excersion for the toppers of the class V, VI, VII, VIII, IX and X to Bodhgaya, Rajgir, Nalanda and Patna, from the 21st to the 24th of November, 2018.

On the 21st, at around 2:00 p.m,  thirteen students, two teachers, one office staff member, and the chairman of the school gathered at the school gate. All came well-prepared for their four-day journey. The outbound trip was by Rajdhani Express. It was a great experience and everyone enjoyed the trip very much. We arrived at Gaya Junction at around 10:30 p.m.

On the 22nd, we attended a meeting organised by Mahabodhi Parahita Vihar, one of the major temple owned by RRYBSL Mission, which runs by Bodhisukha school. After the program, Mr. Che, the foreign teacher, led the students on a sightseeing tour of the international temples at Bodhgaya.

Bodhgaya is the place where Siddhartha Goutama attained enlightenment and became an “enlightened one” – a “buddha”- in 528 B.C. Hundreds of thousands foreign tourists and pilgrims visit the Mahabodhi Temple every yar.

On the following day, the 23rd, we visited Nalanda and Rajgir, two important, ancient sites. All were happy and enjoyed the trip very much.

On the 24th, we returned home from Patna by flght. For the students, for many of whom it was their first time on an airplane, it was a very joyful experience.
